Yeah, no clue what this. I mixed up some things I was craving and (thankfully 🙏) it works! Ooooh, but as I’m thinking about it (while drinking it natch 😉), I’ve decided to dub this the “Bittersweet Symphony”.
When I first peaked in the pantry at the liquor shelf, I was all Gin, Campari & Grapefruit. Then, because honestly it an easier reach, the Gin turned into Vodka. And when I went for the Grapefruit liqueur, the Violet liqueur gave me the sad eyes 🥺, and I’m a sucker for those, so I changed things up again. #notsorry And of course 🍋 goes with everything, so here’s how it all came together.
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Violet Liqueur
- 1 oz Fresh 🍋
Mix everything over ice, then shake, shake, c’mon baby shake. Pour in the glass of your choice, garnish with a lemon twist…or pinwheel in my case.
Sip and how this pings off your whole mouth…it’s a balance of bitter, sour, and candy sweet dancing around. The sweet from the Violet Liqueur is very much a trip down memory lane and the Violet candy that I grew up with from Toulouse. The best ones always had little yellow balls of lemon sugar mixed in. 😍
